DE WITT, NY, September 23, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ellen Bacon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mrs. Bacon benefits from the accumulated experience of more than five decades of excellence in the field of music education. From 1969-91 she was well regarded for teaching elementary vocal and instrumental music in the Richmond (California) School District. After the death of her husband, Pulitzer-winning composer Ernst Bacon, she moved to Syracuse, NY, where she currently serves as president of The Ernst Bacon Society and teaches piano to children and adults in her home. She sometimes creates folksong arrangements for her students and has also composed original songs. One of them, "Let Me Be Your Friend," can be heard on YouTube at https://youtu.be/Xeu3pIhOiUY
Mrs. Bacon's exemplary performance in the field was born of her academic journey. She sought a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College in music in 1964. Continuing her education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Mrs. Bacon received a Master of Arts in music education in 1965.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mrs. Bacon is a member of the Sierra Club, which promotes climate solutions, conservation and movement building through a powerful combination of strategic philanthropy and grassroots advocacy. Her achievements have largely been driven by a desire to have her husband's works be heard and appreciated. In the future, Mrs. Bacon hopes to release more of Ernst Bacon's works, such as a musical titled "Franklin's French Affair" for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
