SACRAMENTO, CA, October 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tim Kennelly has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Kennelly is a principal hydroelectric power utility engineer for the California Department of Water Resources in California. In his role since 2016, he is responsible for the electrical engineering services for the State Water Project, overseeing various projects of plant electrical equipment that require refurbishment or replacement. He also supervises the activities of approximately 50 employees who support his position. Mr. Kennelly formerly spent five years as the Department's supervising hydroelectric power utility engineer, 10 years as senior corrosion engineer and two years as associate corrosion engineer, dating to 1999. Among his most noteworthy projects, Mr. Kennelly was project manager on the Thermalito Pump-Generating Plant Restoration, which was 10 years in the making. He also managed the Table Mountain 230kV Powerline Realignment, which was the result of the 2017 Oroville Dam Spillway incident. This project required moving their 230kV transmission line because it was in jeopardy of collapsing. What would normally take approximately five years to complete, Mr. Kennelly and his team finished in just eight months.
Civically, Mr. Kennelly serves as a volunteer amateur radio operator for Amateur Radio Emergency Service. Providing service throughout the United States and Canada, these volunteers assist with public service and emergency communications.
Following in his father's footsteps, Mr. Kennelly's father held an engineering degree and also worked for Caltrans. He was inspired by his father growing up.
