SANTA FE, NM, October 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cecilia Tchakounte Tadfor has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. For more than 10 years, Ms. Tadfor has flourished as the owner of Ceci's African Kitchen, which she operates out of her home in Santa Fe. Born and raised in Cameroon, she creates African dishes for catered events while providing takeout and delivery services as well. Ms. Tadfor also hosts private cooking classes in which she teaches individuals how to prepare her signature items such as ndole, fufu and poisson braise.
Prior to her career with Ceci's African Kitchen, Ms. Tadfor excelled as an African cuisine instructor at Santa Fe Community College for more than seven years. She is currently a culinary instructor for Santa Fe Youth Works, which is a nonprofit organization that teaches valuable skills to disadvantaged youths. In 2019, she published a collection of traditional Cameroonian recipes titled "African Kitchen: A Chronicle of Cameroonian Cuisine and Culture." Ms. Tadfor's second cookbook is scheduled to be released in 2022.
At the young age of 12, Ms. Tadfor's left leg was amputated and replaced with a prosthetic leg. Her disability eventually inspired her to form the Ceci Tchakounte Tadfor Foundation, which strives to raise funds to provide crutches, wheelchairs and prosthetics to disabled residents of Cameroon and Nigeria. In the coming years, Ms. Tadfor intends to devote more focus to promoting her foundation and eradicating the harmful stigmas that continue to impede the daily lives of disabled individuals around the world.
