Before starting her company, Dr. Chirumamilla was employed with Fritz Industries Inc., a product development company headquartered in Mesquite, Texas, that specializes in various technologies, marketing products, services and processes. She previously spent three years as a senior research scientist for the organization from 2013 to 2016 and another three years as a technology manager of research and development and life sciences until 2019. Dr. Chirumamilla notably began her career as a research assistant at the University of Madras in India in 1998 and as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland from 1999 to 2002.
Following her work at the University of Ulster, Dr. Chirumamilla served as a research scientist at Randox Laboratories Ltd. from 2002 to 2004, a company headquartered in the U.K. that provides research and development in diagnostic testing products. She was subsequently afforded the opportunity to work as a postdoctoral researcher in the school of veterinary medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2005, and in Internal Medicine-Cardiology and Nephrology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School from 2005 to 2009.
A graduate of the University of Madras, Dr. Chirumamilla received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a Master of Science in industrial biochemistry. She was the recipient of the prestigious ORS (Overseas Research Studentship) award from the British government, which is awarded to outstanding researchers with academic achievements and research capabilities. This particular year, 100 grants were awarded globally to the meritorious researchers and Dr. Chirumamilla was one of the award grantees. She later earned a Doctor of Philosophy in biotechnology at the University of Ulster. Eminently qualified in her field, Dr. Chirumamilla is certified in project management and nutrition and health education, as well as a clinical research associate.
