HUNTSVILLE, AL, November 03, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dawn W. Hogan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After studying English at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Ms. Hogan worked in the technology sector in an administrative capacity. She later co-owned Creative Photography for 15 years with her husband, chronicling over 400 weddings, and also devoted her time to volunteering at her children's schools and soccer practices. Furthermore, Ms. Hogan is a crafting and remodeling enthusiast.
A passionate writer, Ms. Hogan's debut novel, "Unbroken Bonds," was released by Woodhall Press in October 2021. The novel explores the stories of four unwed mothers in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the mid-1950s and has been favorably cited in Kirkus, a leading review publication. Highly acclaimed since it has been published, "Unbroken Bonds" has also been revered by author Rickie Solinger of "Wake Up Little Susie: Single Pregnancy and Race before Roe v. Wade" and author Fran Gruss Levin of "The Story of Molly and Me – A Memoir." Notably, Ms. Hogan has been interviewed by various podcast hosts on a myriad of occasions.
Ms. Hogan owes her success to hard work and determination. She was inspired to write "Unbroken Bonds" by the circumstances of her friend, who came to her with her unsealed adoption records from the State of Tennessee and asked Ms. Hogan to find her birth mother. During her research, she learned that over 1.5 million women had been in homes for unwed mothers in the United States.
Additionally, Ms. Hogan takes advantage of an annual opportunity to bring out her writing prowess at a global writing marathon held annually in November called NaNoWriMo, which is a truncated title for "National Novel Writing Month." The event, which she has joined for many years, directs participants to write a 50,000-word novel within the month of November. She finds inspiration from research, daily news items and her dreams.
Ms. Hogan cites the publication of her novel as a career highlight, having written fiction for nearly 20 years, and also points to her success with Creative Photography. She aspires to conduct many more launches of future books that will hopefully be on bestseller lists.
