After earning his high school diploma, Mr. Bartley enlisted in the military and began his career as an engineering assistant specialist in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 until his discharge in 1987. During this time, he also served as an instrument man at Haynie, Kallman & Gray in 1986, later serving in the same capacity at Lucas and Associates Land Surveyors from 1986 to 1987. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Bartley excelled as a shift engineer at S. A. Healy Company from 1987 to 1988 before fulfilling the role of chief field engineer and surveyor at Mole Construction Company, Inc., from 1988 to 1991.
From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Bartley flourished as a chief field engineer and surveyor at National Projects, Inc., and, from 1993 to 1994, served as a survey technician III-T with John E. Chance & Associates from 1993 to 1994. Furthermore, he was a project engineer at Affholder, Inc., for 12 years from 1994 to 2006. In 2006, Mr. Bartley found success as a chief field engineer and surveyor for J.F. Shea Construction before becoming an underground district survey manager at Kiewit Construction Company from 2007 to 2008.
In the latter stages of his career, Mr. Bartley thrived as a survey party chief for SIII-Constructors from 2008 to 2009. Later on, from 2009 to 2011, he served as a chief tunnel surveyor for SAK Construction LLC. Since 2013, he has owned and operated Subterranean Solutions, LLC. He considers commencing his own business to be a highlight of his career. Notably, he formed the foundation of his company by drawing upon his decades of expertise in the field and developing a sound reputation.
To remain abreast of developments in the industry, Mr. Bartley maintains membership with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration and the Underground Construction Association. He attributes his immense success to hard work and staying ahead of the curve.
