EASTOVER, SC, January 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bernice Roberts Kennedy has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Now semi-retired, Dr. Kennedy has garnered more than 45 years of experience in the fields of healthcare research, education and psychiatric nursing. Currently active as a consultant with the BRK Global Healthcare Consulting Firm, she is primarily responsible for grant writing and research for various health service organizations, as well as doctoral students, the latter for whom she has assisted in writing more than 100 dissertations as a research methods expert on behalf of Walden University, Capella University, and other universities when requested. Currently Dr. Kennedy consults with doctoral students globally with research.
Presently, Dr. Kennedy serves as a reviewer on several scholarly peer-reviewed journals and published numerous journal articles in scholarly peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Nursing Scholarship. Also, Dr. Kennedy published self-help books on mental health issues and several health services books. In 2019, Dr. Kennedy was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success by Walden University.
Dr. Kennedy's particular areas of expertise includes the study of minority health disparities, women's health, global health research, management, chronic diseases, and adult and adolescent psychotherapy, among many other subjects. A published author, she has written numerous books on public health, including "Depression and African American Women" and "Domestic Violence: A.K.A. Intimate Partner Violence." Furthermore, she has disseminated various articles through her company website, as well as such publications as the American Journal of Infection Control, the Journal of Cultural Diversity and the Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health. In her capacity as a writer, Dr. Kennedy frequently provides her assistance to those who have just entered the nursing profession to help develop their talent in writing research papers.
Well qualified in her field, Dr. Kennedy has obtained certifications as an advanced practice registered nurse, a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatry, a mental health nurse and in Christian ministry, the latter of which she garnered through Columbia International College at the Columbia Institute for Biblical Studies. Though she is now retired, she frequently operates as an adjunct faculty member for Walden University. Additionally, Dr. Kennedy has participated on the advisory council board for Heyward Career and Technology Education, the Richland County School District and on the governing board of Cooperative Health Centers Inc., both of which reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
Dr. Kennedy initially pursued an education at the University of South Carolina, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in psychiatric and mental health nursing, as well as nursing administration. She subsequently graduated from Walden University with a Doctor of Philosophy in health services in 1998. Dr. Kennedy conducted much of her postdoctoral studies at the University of South Carolina, where she completed internships in nursing leadership and public health research.
As a commitment to her field, Dr. Kennedy has been affiliated with several relevant organizations, including the American Public Health Association, the Association of Black Nursing Faculty, the National Public Health Association, the South Carolina Public Health Association and the South Carolina Nurses Association. Notably, she has served as a member of the latter organization's psychiatric interest group. Likewise known for her civic contributions, Dr. Kennedy founded the Women in Network Ministry: Women Helping Women (A Global Health Ministry) LLC in 2019.
To commemorate her various accomplishments, Dr. Kennedy has accepted several awards and recognitions throughout the span of her career. She was further inducted into the honorable societies of Sigma Alpha Phi and Sigma Theta Tau, and received the Amy V. Cockcroft leadership fellowship from the University of South Carolina. In accounting for her success, Dr. Kennedy credits the values that she learned from her parents, who encouraged her to complete her education and excel in everything to which she sets her mind.
