INDIANAPOLIS, IN, February 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Simranjit Singh, MD, FACP, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Singh earned a Doctor of Medicine from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, in Ludhiana, India, and went on to undertake a residency at the University of Illinois from 2013 to 2016. Since concluding his residency, he has worked as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and a hospitalist at Indiana University Methodist Hospital. In these roles, Dr. Singh is the accountable care team (ACT) lead for the orthopedic trauma service, through which he deals with perioperative medicine and Finance Pillar Lead for IU Health. As ACT lead, he steers multidisciplinary teams towards system-based improvements, productivity, and hospital key performance indicators. As Finance Pillar Lead for the hospitalist group, he reviews financial data, revenue/productivity metrics, and collaborates with management to set and achieve financial goals. To highlight a few other management roles, he also serves by invitation on the Medical Staff committee focused on the Quality and Performance Review of IU Health medical staff. In addition, he served as the Membership Coordinator for the Society of Hospital Medicine Indiana chapter until January. Dr. Singh serves as the secretary of both the Indiana chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine and the Midwest region of the Society of General Internal Medicine. He co-chaired the American College of Physicians Indiana chapter annual meeting planning and education committee in 2020 and 2021. He also chaired the scientific abstract review committee of the Society of General Internal Medicine Midwest annual conference in July 2020.

He authored 20 combined professional society meetings presentations (oral and posters) and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Singh co-authored appropriateness criteria updates in collaboration with the American College of Radiology. The appropriateness criteria research is a high-impact scholarly work that acts as guidelines for clinicians worldwide to appropriately select correct imaging modalities for low back pain, plexopathy, and suspected spine infection. Furthermore, he was named a Featured Frontliner during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Society of General Internal Medicine and received awards for his academic presentations from the University of Illinois. Dr. Singh was awarded second prize in the Oral Vignette Competition in 2014 and first prize for a poster presentation at the Annual Research Symposium of the College of Medicine in 2016.
As part of his dedication to his field, Dr. Singh is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, invited member of various committees of reputable national professional organizations like the American College of Physicians, Society of Hospital Medicine, Society of General Internal Medicine, and American Medical Association. He is also serving on several hospital/institution-based committees focused on quality improvement and performance. In addition, Dr. Singh was invited as a guest speaker at ACP Indiana chapter meetings in 2019 and 2020.
