Dr. Czujko notably pursued an education at Stony Brook University, having earned a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy in 1995 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2007. He began his career as a senior therapist in the outpatient department of Lenox Hill Hospital and worked with outpatient clinics until 2014. He was also appointed as an adjunct professor for Stony Brook's physical therapy program in 2004. Dr. Czujko currently excels as a clinical assistant professor and the director of clinical education at Stony Brook University.
Dr. Czujko is an orthopedic certified specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a certified hand therapy specialist by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. He is presently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in exercise and sports science to expand his expertise in sports medicine. He has additionally published research in peer-reviewed publications and has conducted peer-reviewed presentations over the course of his career. Most recently, Dr. Czujko was the lead author for "The Importance of Early Recognition of Morel-Lavallee Knee Injury," which was published in 2021.
As part of his dedication to his career, Dr. Czujko is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He further serves as a board member for the Committee of Content Experts and Specialty Council on Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and as an item writer for the Federation of State Board of Physical Therapists. In addition to his career, he contributes to the community by serving as a volunteer therapist on mission trips to Haiti and Tanzania. Dr. Czujko also dedicates his time and attention to Kids for Life, a service program for children with obesity and hypertension or children who are at risk for developing these issues.
Dr. Czujko was inspired to become involved in his profession after suffering a knee injury while running track in high school. He was advised to undergo physical therapy at that point, which fortunately worked for him. His knee eventually healed. The experience of recovering from a knee injury through physical therapy sparked his interest to pursue a career in the field. Planning to continue his work in academia and physical therapy, Dr. Czujko's goal is to help reestablish community programs affected by the pandemic such as the Kids for Life programs while concluding his own academic efforts.
