Dr. Pederson earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Chaffey College in 2000 and went on to attain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2017. Following this accomplishment, she earned a Master of Nursing in Nursing Informatics from the same institution in 2019 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Advance Population Health from Washington State University in 2021 with a certificate in Leadership. Well qualified in her field, Dr. Pederson also holds an Interprofessional Healthcare Informatics certificate from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing.
Dr. Pederson began her career as a clinical informatics analyst for Children's Hospital of Orange County in 2002 and subsequently in a leadership role as the Southwest Washington Region Senior Manager of Clinical Informatics for Providence Health & Services in 2008. In 2014, she was promoted to the Manager of Inpatient Clinical Operations, Reporting & Analytics. Dr. Pederson went on to accept a role as a Quality Manager for PeaceHealth in 2019, where she was promoted as the System Director of Risk Management Analytics in 2021. She also works for Bird's Eye Medical, providing COVID-19 vaccinations and monoclonal antibody therapy treatments (mAb) in response to the public health crisis with the COVID pandemic.
In recognition of her expertise, Dr. Pederson was nominated for an Outstanding DNP Award by Washington State University in 2021 for developing a Gender Affirming Care Policy for a large faith-based healthcare organization. She has also received seven Western Governors University Excellence Awards, as well as an achievement award for the implementation of an electronic documentation solutions from Providence St. Peter Hospital in 2009. Likewise, she was honored with the Native American Student of the Year Award in 2000. Crediting her success to her innate curiosity, as well as the support she enjoys from her family and husband, Dr. Pederson aspires to continue making a difference in her industry.
As part of her dedication to her field, Dr. Pederson serves as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honors Society), American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM), National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and National Society of Leadership and Success. An expert in integrating technology into clinical workflows and evidence-based research into clinical practices to improve process efficiency, reduce medical errors and improve quality care. She resolved to pursue a career in nursing after her mother passed away from breast cancer. Looking toward the future, Dr. Pederson plans to rise to a senior executive position in healthcare, with the goal of reducing health disparities and improving overall population health.
