Drawing on over three decades of expertise in health care, Dr. Spratke specializes in medical and surgical nursing. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at the Shapiro School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan, where she obtained a practical nurses license in 1985, and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Madonna University in Livonia in 1993. She continued her academic efforts at the University of Phoenix, attaining a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2009. Dr. Spratke concluded her scholarly endeavors at Northcentral University, achieving an education specialist degree in 2019, and a doctorate in nursing education in 2021.
As a commitment to her field, Dr. Spratke has been certified in advanced trauma care nursing and as a basic life support instructor, and has been active as a member with the National Honor Society at Northcentral University.
Dr. Spratke began her career as a staff nurse at William Beaumont Hospital from 1985 to 2010. She continued her vocation as a staff nurse at Saint John Providence Park Hospital between 2010 and 2015, while concurrently serving as a faculty nurse at Baker College from 2014 until 2016. Following this period, she was active in her role as a nurse educator at various institutions, including Detroit Receiving Hospital, where she also worked as a burn unit coordinator from 2016 to 2018, the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan between 2018 and 2020, and the Garden City Hospital since 2021, while also contributing as a surgical staff nurse at the surgery center as of 2022. In this capacity, Dr. Spratke is responsible for new hire orientations, as well as the implementation and completion of yearly competencies for nurses and nurse assistants, product and policies training, and preoperative care of surgical patients for outpatient surgery.
