Having drawn inspiration to teach from Father W. Norris Clarke, his metaphysics professor, Dr. Roemer earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from Fordham University during the mid-1960s. He subsequently received a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from New York University before becoming the manager of radiation therapy products at Litton Medical Systems. Over the years, Dr. Roemer gained valuable professional expertise as a product specialist with Siemens Corporation, during which time he also completed a Master of Business Administration at Pace University's Lubin School of Business.
Supported by his considerable expertise, Dr. Roemer worked for the remainder of his career as a high school physics teacher for such institutions as Midwood High School, Erasmus High School and Edward R. Murrow High School prior to retiring in 1998. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligned himself with several organizations, including the American Philosophical Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Institute for Theological Encounter with Science and Technology.
Due to his considerable knowledge, Dr. Roemer contributed to a plethora of professional articles over the years.
