CARROLLTON, VA, September 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jonathan H. Warren, MS, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Warren celebrates many years of experience in his professional network; he has been noted for his achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on their current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into consideration during the selection process.
Exemplifying excellence and enthusiasm in science, leadership, and innovation, Mr. Warren sets himself apart through his work with Dominion Energy as an Innovation Guide / Chemist III. He was born to Hal and Kathy Warren, who gave him the critical support needed to pursue his dreams. They encouraged him to "never give up" and taught him that nothing was impossible in life if he gave it his best. Mr. Warren credits his parents' emphasis on a strong work ethic and his abiding faith in God as factors leading to his personal and professional achievements. Currently residing in Carrollton, Virginia, Mr. Warren is happily married to his wife, Susie, and they are raising a daughter, Taylor, and a son, Peter. As a devout Christian, he lives and works by the motto, "to glorify God in everything I do."
Mr. Warren pursued a formal education at Christopher Newport University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Environmental Science. His contributions to science, leadership, and innovative thinking aided in completing his thesis on the activity patterns of Townsend's big-eared bats at abandoned mines in Nevada. While conducting fieldwork for his thesis, he developed several innovative external survey techniques to effectively lead a team in accurately tracking and monitoring the activities of these bats.
For his inimitable expertise, Mr. Warren has been recognized as the 2021 Dominion Energy Chairman's Excellence Award DEV Peer Choice Winner for his work with his project "Purate Conversion at Surry Power Station (SPS)." This distinction is awarded to the most innovative implemented project that produced the most extensive cost savings and provided the most substantial environmental benefit. An honoree of Marquis Who's Who, he was the recipient of the Top Professional Award as a Top Scientist.
Before joining Dominion Energy, Mr. Warren spent 12 years with Chick-fil-A. He started in an entry-level position and worked his way up to General Manager. He attributes much of his professional success to the leadership skills and innovation values he gained at Chick-fil-A. Mr. Warren has also completed Dale Carnegie Effective Communications and Human Relations coursework and was the Dale Carnegie Breakthrough Award recipient. Refining his expertise further, he completed Leadership Skills Training with Dominion Energy.
Dominion Energy is a power and energy company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, which operates in 13 states across the United States and provides reliable, affordable, clean energy to nearly 7 million customers. SPS is a nuclear power plant owned by Dominion Energy that is composed of two 3-looped Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR), each having a total output of about 838 megawatts of power for a combined plant output of 1.676 gigawatts. This power station is located on an 840-acre site in southeastern Virginia and generates enough power for 420,000 homes throughout the area.
In 2012, Mr. Warren began his career at SPS as a Nuclear Chemistry Technician and was then promoted to Chemist III. In this role, his primary responsibility was to prevent corrosion throughout the nuclear plant by minimizing plant impurities and maintaining pH control. Mr. Warren used this role to expand his skills by leading efforts to develop new ways to save money, reduce labor, and lower Dominion Energy's environmental footprint. Recently, he earned another promotion to Innovation Guide for Power Generation at Dominion Energy's Corporate Headquarters. This new role will capitalize on and expand his leadership skills and other talents by allowing him to further advance science and innovation at nuclear, coal, oil, natural gas, solar, hydro, and wind power generation facilities.
Throughout his career at Dominion Energy, Mr. Warren has shown initiative for improvement through the company's Innovation Spark Tank and has received numerous accolades. Notably, he was the 2019 Second Place Eastern Regional Winner for "Purate Conversion at SPS," in 2020, a Top 10 Eastern Regional Finalist for "Modernization of OLCMS (On-Line Chemistry Monitoring System)," and in 2021, he was the Third Place Eastern Regional Winner for "13.9 Million Gallons of Water Saved Annually at SPS." He is an industry-recognized leader in innovation, presenting twice as the invited keynote speaker at the NuclearIQ Conference: first in 2017, for using NuclearIQ to automatically export and trend secondary system data from the Integral Ion Chromatography Systems, and again in 2019, on SPS's INPO strength for low-level detection of condenser in-leakage.
Reflecting on his life and career, Mr. Warren is proud of the person he is today, both as a distinguished professional in his field and a loving husband and father. As a devoted family man, he would not consider himself successful as a person or a professional without the blessings he has received from the Lord and the love he shares with his wife and children. He fondly recalls his early lessons of perseverance and dedication from his parents. With his best years still ahead of him, Mr. Warren will continue to put those lessons into practice.
