Mr. McCrohan is a retired optician who devoted more than four decades to his career in the state of New Jersey. In addition to maintaining a busy schedule assisting clients with their eyecare needs, he was a black belt in karate who owned and operated two dojos in Clifton and Caldwell, New Jersey, for 30 years. Mr. McCrohan notably began taking karate in his early years and quickly advanced in the martial arts. He won numerous awards and also had the opportunity to become a part of the U.S. team and in the Pan American Games in Venezuela in 1974. In retirement, Mr. McCrohan relocated south to Boynton Beach, Florida, where he took up writing full-time after being an art director for a local theater company.
Painting since the 1990s, Mr. McCrohan has garnered recognition in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Europe and South Africa. Mr. McCrohan has also been the recipient of several awards for his paintings in various shows and galleries.
A horror enthusiast, Mr. McCrohan published his first book in 2010 called "Pandora." Since then, he has penned numerous other books and 13 novels. Four of his books have also been made into audiobooks. Receiving excellent reviews from critics, he is presently in the process of negotiating with a Los Angeles producer who is considering making it either into a television show, podcast or movie. Mr. McCrohan is currently working on his latest novel, "Shawtuck Asylum" has just been released in print.
Mr. McCrohan has participated in several book signings to promote his books and his brand. Looking toward the future, he aims to become recognized as an author of choice in the horror genre. Mr. McCrohan also plans to expand his reach by lecturing more so that he can become more recognizable in the industry.
A graduate of Clifton High School in Clifton, New Jersey, Mr. McCrohan received his diploma in 1969. Four years later, Mr. McCrohan became a licensed optician in the state of New Jersey.
Throughout his career, Mr. McCrohan learned to maintain a positive attitude and overcome obstacles so that he could be the best version of himself. A driven person, he has never retreated from attempting new endeavors. Living life by an old martial arts phrase that says, "Seven times down, eight times up," Mr. McCrohan believes that his perseverance has been the key to his success.
