Drawing on over four decades of expertise in the airline industry, Mr. Haupt specialized in catering, security and aircraft maintenance for airlines worldwide. Prior to his retirement, he built a prolific career as a manager of contract sales at United Airlines, where he worked for 40 years. During this time, he also contributed to the catering industry for 30 years, and to international airport security and aircraft maintenance for over a decade. In this capacity, Mr. Haupt was responsible for marketing, surveying employees, catering to domestic and foreign airlines, airport security services at numerous cities and cleaning airplanes.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Haupt pursued an education at Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1958. As a commitment to his field, he was active with several industry-related organizations, including the Society of the Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and as a regional director at Toastmasters International. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Haupt contributed to Junior Achievement USA and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Well regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Haupt has received multiple awards, including a Marketing of the Year Award, an Outstanding Leadership Award and a front-page feature in the Chicago Tribune. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have coordinated catering services in more than 35 different countries and to have created the Airline Catering Association, an organization that collaborates between government agencies and various airline development companies to provide airplanes the opportunity to offer services to their passengers.
