Ms. Herskovic has released several books as an author and editor, including her most recent, "Albert Kotin American Abstract Expressionist of the 1950s."
FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ, September 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marika Herskovic has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An expert in abstract expressionism painting, Ms. Herskovic has devoted the past two decades of her career to writing and producing videos in her area of expertise. Affiliated with the New York School Press LLC, a prominent publisher of fine art books, Ms. Herskovic has released several books as an author and editor, including her most recent, "Albert Kotin American Abstract Expressionist of the 1950s," in 2016. The book demonstrates to readers Mr. Kotin's extensive expertise and includes dozens of paintings, drawings and murals in large color format.
Among other books, Ms. Herskovic released "New York School Abstract Expressionists: Artists Choice by Artists: A Complete Documentation of the New York Painting and Sculpture Annuals; 1951-1957" in 2000, "American Abstract Expressionism of the 1950s: An Illustrated Survey with Artists' Statements, Artwork, and Biographies" in 2003, and "American Abstract and Figurative Expressionism: Style is Timely Art is Timeless" in 2009. All of her work can be found on Amazon.com.
Ms. Herskovic's extensive research in the field has also resulted in the production of more than 25 videos about the New York School, the many artists that attended there, and the limitless artwork that was produced as a result. The New York School was notably recognized as an informal group of artists, poets, dancers, and musicians that resided in New York City during the 1950s and 1960s, and were heavily influenced by the contemporary avant-garde art movements, which included the abstract expressionism that Ms. Herskovic focuses much of her efforts on.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Herskovic's videos have been featured on numerous cable television networks and have also been included on the "Art on Screen" database, which was produced by the Program for Art on Film, which was a collaboration of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Trust between 1984 and 1994. She has also hosted and video-recorded many seminars of artists during her tenure. Furthermore, Ms. Herskovic has documented many of the New York Painting and Sculpture Annuals, including those artists that participated in the events and their artwork, which were subsequently featured on YouTube.
Apart from her writing and video contributions, Ms. Herskovic has become an avid collector of abstract expressionist paintings over the past three decades. Her growing collection includes artwork by such recognizable figures as Karl Zerbe, Albert Kotin, Kwanggho Shin and Anki King.
