Mr. Henley is especially gratified by rising through the ranks in the construction industry from journeyman to a union contractor in charge of multi-million dollar projects.
CHICAGO, IL, October 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Melvin Jacob Henley has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing upon over 20 years of professional experience from 2002 to 2022, Mr. Henley has excelled as the founder, owner and president of PAC Leaders, LLC since 2017, a general contracting and commercial construction management business. Since founding the company, he has mentored and provided on-the-job training for apprentices from partner schools, met with executives of other companies and managed several teams. Prior to obtaining his current positions, Mr. Henley worked as an assistant superintendent for Clayco in 2018 and as a carpenter foreman and superintendent with Path Construction Company in 2016.
During the early years of his career, Mr. Henley also gained valuable expertise during a four-year union apprenticeship and with such companies as Clayco and Kiewit between 2005 and 2014. While serving these organizations, he worked as a journeyman carpenter. Outside of his work, he contributes to his community through back-to-school giveaway programs and by rebuilding a historical newsstand through PAC Leaders, LLC. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Henley maintains affiliation with the Carpenters Local Union 54, the Black Contractors Owners and Executives, and the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association.
An expert in his field, Mr. Henley holds a bachelor's degree equivalency from DePaul University, which he obtained in 2001. Over the years, he has expanded upon his knowledge, earning various certifications through the National Center for Construction Education and Research, the American Heart Association, OSHA, the Carpenters International Training Fund, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. In light of his vast breadth of experience, Mr. Henley has also been featured on multiple news media channels and interviewed on the radio.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Henley is especially gratified by rising through the ranks in the construction industry from journeyman to a union contractor in charge of multi-million dollar projects. Within one year of Mr. Henley becoming a union contractor, the company has sponsored six individuals who now work as apprentices. He advises that the cornerstone of his success has been in being a lifelong learner and passing down his knowledge to others. In the coming years, Mr. Henley intends to become involved in real estate development and envision plans to build schools and homes for the homeless population.
