PHENIX CITY, AL, November 02, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brittany C. Pendleton, MS, MLS(ASCP)CM, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With several years of excellence to her credit in laboratory science, Ms. Pendleton has found success in embryology. In this capacity, she is an Embryologist for Columbus Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as a medical laboratory scientist for St. Francis Emory Healthcare. In her role as an Embryologist, she focuses her efforts on reproductive services and research in the area of embryo creation and development via in-vitro fertilization. Subsequently, she ensures the paperwork and standard operating procedures are up-to-date in preparation for laboratory inspections and ensures safety and smooth operations of all aspects of the lab. As a laboratory scientist at both facilities, she analyzes a variety of patients' biological specimens while engaging in quality control for their instruments, guaranteeing the most accurate results possible are reported to Physicians. Additionally, she is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Pendleton began her career as a student assistant with the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center in 2013, with which she continued working as a front desk supervisor in 2014. In 2016, she accepted a position as an operations and facilities assistant. Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Pendleton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Columbus State University in 2014. She was introduced to the laboratory career through the clinical laboratory science program at Auburn University in 2017. She furthered her education which culminated in a Master of Science in clinical laboratory science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020.
Within the coming years, Ms. Pendleton intends to establish her own medical facility, through which she will be able to put her patients first, treating the whole patient rather than only the symptoms. She has been interested in becoming a healthcare provider since her youth, originally intending to become a nurse until finding fault in how patients were treated at a nursing home. Although she enrolled in medical school, she was unable to complete the program after receiving a cancer diagnosis. She ultimately decided to enter the field of laboratory science, as she discovered that she had a passion for working in the lab and helping patients from that position.
