After working in the arts and the military for more than three decades, Ms. Lockhart retired in 2022. Previously, she served as the owner and artist of Dragon's Lair, where she exhibited and sold her own visually stunning artworks with medieval fantasy themes. During the early stages of her career, she worked as an aircraft avionic systems specialist for the KC 135 tanker at Tinker Air Force Base, the headquarters of the Air Force Material Command's Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, between 2000 and 2022. Additionally, Ms. Lockhart gained valuable expertise with the Oklahoma National Guard and the United States Department of Defense.
While she was deployed, Ms. Lockhart maintained a love of the arts. While waiting for airplanes to launch and recover, she would indulge in her passion. Throughout the course of her career, she has achieved much, earning several awards, including the Mechanic of the Month Award during the late 1980s. An accomplished and seasoned artist, Ms. Lockhart's main medium is acrylic oil paints, though she does work with pens and pointillism on occasion. In addition to creating and designing birdhouses, she paints skulls, gourds, and eggs to resemble medieval fantasy creatures. Over the years, she has exhibited her work at a number of local art shows, including her first show of 2022, the Medieval Fair in Norman, Oklahoma. In the coming years, Ms. Lockhart intends to continue fostering her passion for the arts.
