Mr. Thebaut and The Chronicles Group is currently in development with "Turning Back the Doomsday Clock," its most impactful project to date. The film places a spotlight on escalating global crises, highlighting science-based solutions for the myriad existential threats confronting the planet. It will be distributed throughout the world.
Mr. Thebaut began his career serving in the United States Army for three years. Following his military service, he was active as a writer, producer and creator of "A Tale of Two Cities" for the KIRO CBS television channel in Seattle in 1970. Between 1976 and 2012, Mr. Thebaut continued to garner expertise as a producer, writer and a director or producer of various documentaries, movies and television productions for such networks as Bleiberg Entertainment, A&E Television, HBO, Johnny Carson Productions, and CBS and ABC News. These include the movie "A Deadly Business" about organized crime and toxic waste in New York and New Jersey; and the water-crises documentaries "The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry?" about the Colorado River (which Mr. Thebaut prophetically predicted) and "Running Dry," the latter of which was filmed on location in China, India, the Middle East and the United States, and led to U.S. foreign policy legislation.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Thebaut pursued an education at the University of Washington, where he obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Landscape Architecture. He continued his academic efforts at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Master of Science in 1967. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Thebaut has served on the board of directors for the California Farm Water Coalition and provided educational seminars to all levels of government and the public in an effort to incite awareness and the necessary actions to save the global ecosystem.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Thebaut is most proud of his public policy achievements and his ability to emphasize the importance of the global ecological system in his films. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his determination.
