Drawing on decades of professional experience, LTC Bembenista presently excels as a General Manager of a propane company. Since joining the company in 2014, he supervises company delivery operations for customers, maintained responsibility for training and managing employees, fields technical and regulatory questions on propane and has achieved Department of Transportation certification for hydrostatic and visual inspection program for propane cylinders from the Hydrostatic Testing Consultants Limited. He last worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) at the United States Pacific Command at Camp Smith where he served as Deputy to the Agency Command Representative where he brokered Agency requirements to the Command. He retired from the government in 2014.
Graduate of Reserve Officer Training Program. After college he served as a Regular Army officer in the field of tactical and strategic military intelligence for two decades retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After the military, he began his civilian career as an intelligence exercise planner for the U.S. Air Force. Later assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) as a Senior Intelligence Officer, he spent multiple years with DIA in a variety of intelligence management positions such as training Agency personnel for global deployments, Senior Command Representative at Untied States Central Command in Tampa, Florida senior intelligence advisor for the Supreme Headquarters Allied Headquarters National Atlantic Treaty Organization in Mons Belgium, an intelligence program manager, and served multiple tours in director of intelligence operations. He later as for the Agency as Deputy Director for the Combined Media Processing Support Center in Doha, Qatar. During his varied intelligence career, he earned the title of Joint Intelligence Officer from the Director of National Intelligence. He holds a dual Bachelors or Arts degree from Canisus College in Political Science and Communication Science and has earned a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College. Alongside his work, he contributes to his community through the Fellowship of Christians in University Schools (FOCUS), the National WWII Museum, and the Museum of the United States Army.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in various fields, LTC Bembenista aligns himself with numerous groups like the Western Propane Gas Association, the NRA, the AMVETS, and is a life member of the American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. As an avid motorcyclist he belongs to The Honolulu HOG organization in Hawaii and is also a life member of Harley Davidson Owners Group. As a member of the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI) for over 30 years, he achieved the grade of Master Instructor teaching hundreds of divers to dive safely and enjoy the underwater world.
Though his career has been filled with standout moments, LTC Bembenista is most proud of serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in Central Command in Tampa where he developed a command program called the Intelligence Affiliation Program, which is still in place and allows the command to determine interoperability and work with middle eastern allies to facilitate future activities for exercises, maneuvers and warfighting,. The cornerstone of his success lay in his father, who taught him to be modest, a leader, and mentor. Looking ahead, LTC Bembenista intends to experience continued growth and success in his third career, and later in retirement.
