At the age of 18, Ms. Rel worked in a mental health unit, which inspired her life's path. Drawing on years of professional expertise, she presently excels as a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice, through which she specializes in individual, marriage and family counseling. Providing mental health services to clients, she has seen an increase in patients in recent years due to the anxiety and depression that have plagued society since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Rel gained valuable expertise with a counseling agency.
In conjunction with her work, Ms. Rel has volunteered with a local radio station, as well as various organizations that provide books to elementary schools in the United States and Mexico. Additionally, she lent her time and energy to the Kids Kingdom, through which she helped build a playground. To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Ms. Rel aligns herself with the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Rel earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in substance abuse studies from Texas Tech University in 1992. Subsequently, she expanded upon her education with a Master of Science in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2009, in addition to becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist. Currently, she is pursuing training for neurofeedback certification. To commemorate her professional achievements, she received Small Business Awards in 2016 and 2017.
