Overseeing global marketing for all 11 manufacturing plants throughout the world, Ms. Heinz serves as the vice president of marketing and industry affairs for Bell Flavors & Fragrances. Among other responsibilities, Ms. Heinz is involved in consumer marketing, which includes selling various flavors, fragrances, and botanicals to customers via various strategies, including consumer data to better understand their taste and smell preferences and how they relate to the company's products.
Ms. Heinz is a third-generation executive working for the family business. Originally founded in 1912 as the William M. Bell Company in Chicago, Bell Flavors & Fragrances is a privately held company that is owned and operated by the Heinz family. Affiliated with the organization since 2010, Ms. Heinz gained experience as a marketing coordinator before working in marketing communications followed by being Director of Marketing. She also worked for David Ratowitz for Congress as a social media manager.
Throughout much of her career, Ms. Heinz has been active with several nonprofit and educational organizations. She notably served as a board director for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund in 2016. Ms. Heinz has since been serving as a director for the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago since 2020.
Highly educated, Ms. Heinz completed extensive coursework in liberal arts and business at Tulane University between 2004 and 2007 before acquiring a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in communication and journalism at DePaul University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Ms. Heinz also received certification in Harvard Business School's executive program for leadership development in 2019 PLD26' and several internships in marketing, public relations, advertising, and event planning for Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Sheffield Garden Walk & Festival, and StyleChicago.com.
Travel being a strong lifelong passion for Ms. Heinz, she studied abroad at the American University of Paris in fashion studies including fashion journalism as well as two separate International business seminars through DePaul University, one to Chile and Argentina and the second to India to complete her Master's degree. Ms. Heinz has visited 35 countries and tries to visit a new country each year.
Ms. Heinz has held several speaking engagements including sharing flavor trend insights for several years at the National Confectioner's Association Sweets & Snacks Expo. She also spoke for the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce's women's leadership luncheon in 2020 on career development. In 2015, Ms. Heinz spoke as a panelist for the International fragrance association on the future of fragrance in 2025. Ms. Heinz also moderates many conferences and panel discussions throughout industry associations.
Among several professional memberships, Ms. Heinz has been very active with the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association as the organization's program committee chair from 2013 to 2019 and subsequently as a member of the board of governors since 2019. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Fragrance Creators Association since 2017 and the Women in Flavors and Fragrance Commerce since 2012. She will lead the Chicago Chapter as President in 2023. Earlier in her career, Ms. Heinz served as the president of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Chicago Loop Group Alumnae Association from 2011 to 2013.
