OSHKOSH, WI, December 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mallory Cornell, MBA, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Cornell has distinguished herself in the insurance industry as the vice president at Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin (IIAW) in Madison. Named to her most recently appointed position in 2018, she has found success by becoming a subject matter expert on daily operations in a field that is flooded with leadership and experience. Having begun in the industry in 2008, Ms. Cornell has advanced in her role in a very short amount of time.
Affiliated with the IIAW since 2017, Ms. Cornell began by serving as the director of risk management. From operational risk to strategic risk, her goal is to protect the agency by fostering key practices and by being able to identify and mitigate risk when necessary. As the organization's vice president, Ms. Cornell continues to oversee the risk management program, while also overseeing all of its insurance programs, securing solutions for independent agencies and company partners, and managing operational audits, among other routine functions.
Since joining the IIAW, Ms. Cornell successfully established a risk management consulting program for independent insurance agencies. Initially, the program was created to support Wisconsin's independent insurance agents. However, after realizing that her company was the only state association with in-house capability to offer this program on a larger scale, Ms. Cornell created online automation to make it more efficient and the program has since been servicing independent insurance companies throughout the U.S. since 2020. More recently, Ms. Cornell also built a training program in October 2022. This program, known as Virtual Agency Solutions, serves independent agencies by reviewing workflows and improving operational efficiencies.
Ms. Cornell originally joined Willis in Neenah, Wisconsin, in 2010 as an assistant client manager. In this capacity, she supported the Kimberly-Clark corporation in its global risk management department. She subsequently began working directly for Kimberly-Clark in 2012 as an enterprise risk management analyst before being promoted to senior enterprise risk management analyst between 2014 and 2015, casualty insurance manager in 2015, and global compliance risk manager from 2015 to 2017. Ms. Cornell was notably the first employee to ever serve as an enterprise risk manager for Kimberly-Clark.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Cornell worked in local government as a case manager for the Diocese of Green Bay, Wisconsin, from 2008 to 2010. She worked exclusively with pregnant and parenting teenagers throughout Brown County and served as the President of the Brown County Adolescent Parenting Coalition from 2009-2010.
Civically, Ms. Cornell lent her time and expertise to The Appleton A Better Chance Program as the compliance board secretary from 2015 to 2017. Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, the nonprofit organization is a member of the national organization, A Better Chance, and focuses on providing people of color with academic scholarships and the opportunity to attend a top-rated high school in the town of Appleton.
Ms. Cornell achieved a Bachelor of Arts in social work and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater in 2005 and 2016, respectively. She also received certification as a compliance and ethics professional through the Compliance Certification Board in 2016 and has been a certified LEAN Blue Belt since 2014.
Ms. Cornell's accomplished career has led her to receive several accolades, including recognition as the Emerging Leaders Staff Liaison of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America in 2020. She credits much of her success to her grandfather and mother who were both independent insurance agents and served as an inspiration in her career choice.
