Mr. Capezzuto is an expert in local government who has more than two decades of public administration experience in the fields of Public Works, Solid Waste, Code Compliance, Emergency Management, Affordable Housing, Parks & Recreation, Grants Administration and Neighborhood Planning. Affiliated with the City of Port Saint Lucie in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, since 2001, he is presently serving as the director of neighborhood services, a prominent leadership role with notable accomplishments including guiding the Code Compliance division to become only the 3rd nationally accredited Code Enforcement agency in the nation and overseeing the development of the City's first Community Land Trust for long-term affordable housing. His leadership efforts also involved working with a City Council appointed Solid Waste Task Force to overhaul Port St. Lucie's waste collection program in 2022. As a part of his responsibilities, Mr. Capezzuto is heavily engaged in monitoring his department's progress toward the agency's strategic plan while developing future leaders for critical succession planning in one of Florida's most populous cities.
Beginning his career in Parks & Recreation as an operations specialist for the City of Port Saint Lucie, Mr. Capezzuto subsequently moved into the role of Public Works project coordinator in 2004, then project manager in 2006, and community services director in 2016. Later that year, he was named to his present position as the director of neighborhood services. He also taught as an adjunct instructor and trainer for the Florida chapter of the American Public Works Association at Indian River State College.
An equally successful career coach, Mr. Capezzuto is the founder of EverythingInterview.com, an organization that provides an array of career consulting services, including career guidance, interview preparation, and other career advancement services. Established in 2021, Mr. Capezzuto utilizes his years of practical experience in government, public administration, and public policy to provide government career assistance, as well as assistance in various other sectors, including health care, education, information technology, logistics, and, among others, transportation.
Frequently giving back to local organizations that support various worthy causes, Mr. Capezzuto participates in charity events and fundraisers. Over the years, he has supported the March of Dimes, Treasure Coast Food Bank, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Catholic Charities and Habitat for Humanity.
An alumnus of Florida Atlantic University, Mr. Capezzuto received a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and management in 2004. He subsequently attended Nova Southeastern University where he achieved a Master of Public Administration in 2006. Additional educational pursuits to Mr. Capezzuto's credit include an advanced professional series certificate through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a professional certificate in local government management through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
Mr. Capezzuto is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the ICMA and the Florida City and County Management Association. In 2010, Mr. Capezzuto was recognized for his success by being named as the Young Leader of the Year by the Florida chapter of the American Public Works Association.
