Ms. Roberts has played an active role in a multitude of local organizations throughout Palm Beach County, Florida.

Devoted to her community for more than three decades, Ms. Roberts has played an active role in a multitude of local organizations throughout Palm Beach County, Florida. More recently, she served in a volunteer position on the board of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, which provides an array of services to children and adults throughout the county, as well as programs for uninsured residents, among other services. Ms. Roberts served two terms on the board, beginning as a board member in 2008 and subsequently as the board chair from 2013 to 2015.
Instrumental in helping establish the Health Care District in the 1980s, Ms. Roberts notes that it was the only county in the nation to ever do so. After taxpayers voted yes to the proposal, it allowed the working poor community to afford to purchase health insurance through the district for their families for a minimal amount of money. The rest of the insurance was subsidized by taxpayers. Additionally, individuals that were not covered by Medicaid could also be covered through the district.
Ms. Roberts' professional career began in 1976 as a radio program host for Station WPBR in Palm Beach. Ms. Roberts subsequently co-founded Denman, Roberts & Ross in West Palm Beach, served as the president of the Sunshine Academy Press Inc. in West Palm Beach, and was recognized as the president and broker at VIP Management and Realty Inc. in West Palm Beach.
A dedicated civil advocate, Ms. Roberts was previously active on the board of directors and as the chair of the women's division of the Palm Beach County Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center Board, as the chair of the Palm Beach County Board Commissioners, and as the first woman ever elected to serve as the West Palm Beach City Commissioner. She also had the pleasure of serving as the vice mayor and subsequently as the mayor of the City of West Palm Beach. Furthermore, Ms. Roberts spent time engaged as a member of the Committee on Intergovernmental Relations for the State of Florida and as a member of the Palm Beach County Film Commission and the Palm Beach County Airport Committee.
Apart from her governmental work, Ms. Roberts has supported various other organizations such as Goodwill Industries, the Anti-Defamation League, the Florida Crime Prevention Commission, the Southern Florida Mental Health Consortium, and the Palm Beach Sports Authority. She has also served in various leading roles, including as the marketing committee vice chair of the Solid Waste Authority and as the chair of Art in Public Places. Most notably, Ms. Roberts was the founder of the Jewish Community Day School of the Palm Beaches.
Ms. Roberts attended Palm Beach Atlantic College. She remains abreast in her industry as a professional member of the Florida League of Cities, the National Association of Counties, and the South Florida Mental Health Consortium. Ms. Roberts has also proven instrumental as a past president of the social services policy committee and as a board director of the Florida Association of Counties.
Selected for a multitude of awards and recognitions for her volunteer services, Ms. Roberts most recently received a Proclamation Award from the Board of Commissioners for her civic leadership in 2016 after completing her two, four-year terms on the board of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. She was also honored with the Most Superior and Dedicated County Commissioner Award from the Palm Beach Mid-County Council in 1997, as an Advocate of the Year by the Jewish Family and Children's Services in 1997, with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission in 1996, and, among many other accolades, was named a Leading Lady in Municipal Government in 1985. Moreover, Ms. Roberts secured numerous grants from such institutions as the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, and Tufts University, as well as from the Norton Art Gallery and the John and Mabel Ringling Museum.
