Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in educational administration and leadership, Ms. Hetrick has earned distinction as the superintendent of schools for the Forest Area School District. Since 2012, she has focused her efforts on creating curricula, managing finances and managing facilities for the school district, centering students and their needs for all her decisions. Additionally, she is a valued member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the Pennsylvania Association for Rural and Small Schools.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Hetrick began her career as an English teacher for the Penncrest School District in 1989 and became the assistant principal for the Titusville Area School District in 1997. She then served as the principal for Titusville High School in 2002 until taking a role as the director of education for the Tri-State Business Institute in 2006. She continued her career as the director of secondary and elementary education for the Warren County School District in 2008. Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have received a Building Community Through Rural Education Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools in 2022 and was appointed by the Governor to the PA State Board for Education in 2022.
Also a dedicated civil advocate, Ms. Hetrick serves as a board member of the Titusville Area United Way and is the board secretary for the County Business Alliance. She has been an advisory board secretary for the Forest-Warren Human Services organization since 2008 and has been a dedicated board of trustees member of the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College since 2014. She also lends her expertise as the board president of the Warren Forest Higher Education Council and as the president of the Allegheny Forest Alliance.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Hetrick earned a bachelor's degree in English from Allegheny College in 1988. She then attained a master's degree in educational administration from PennWest Edinboro in 1993. Well-qualified in her field, she holds a secondary education certification in English and secondary and elementary principal's certificates. She is also certified by a superintendent's letter of eligibility for education from Westminster College. Within the coming years, Ms. Hetrick intends to continue to grow the Forest Area School District's capabilities, allowing students to flourish and pursue their own goals.
