Ms. Chavez attends neonatal births to stabilize infants and provide neonatal resuscitation whenever needed.
Prior to her recruitment at Texas Children's Hospital, Ms. Chavez excelled as a nurse with the St. Luke's Health system between 1979 and 2006. She also found further success as an instructor for a neonatal resuscitation course for more than 25 years. In order to stay up to date with the latest developments in her field, Ms. Chavez maintains an active affiliation with the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses. Ms. Chavez has been certified in low-risk neonatal intensive care nursing through NCC since 1995. Ms. Chavez is also an Evidence-Based Practice Scholar through Texas Children's Hospital.
Throughout her career, Ms. Chavez has been honored with numerous accolades in relation to her collaborative spirit as well as her expertise in neonatal resuscitation.
