Prior to his current role, Mr. Distasio began his career as a shareholder with Shear Newman Hahn and Rosenkranz, P.A. in 1989. He then was a partner with Bales Weinstein in 2000. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have been named an AV Rated-Personal Injury Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Distasio earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business in 1986. He then attained a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 1989. Well-qualified in his field, he has handled cases in the state courts of Florida as well as the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida, the Northern District of Florida, and the Middle District of Florida. He has also presented oral arguments in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
After starting his career defending medical institutions, Mr. Distasio noticed his colleagues were hesitant to defend nursing home and assisted living abuse cases. Wanting to progress within the law firm, he volunteered his time for these cases, eventually switching his own practice to handle them from the plaintiff's side.
