Since 2014, Mr. Baker has functioned as a FDI/EDDL and HART Technology Engineer with FieldComm Group. In this broad role, his responsibilities are associated with engineering, testing software and registrations of device integration files. Additionally, he functions as an FDI and EDDL instructor. In fact, he has been valued as a teacher since 2005 in both the USA (Austin, Texas), as well as an international presence by traveling to Germany twice a year as well as periodically to other countries to host training workshops. Mr. Baker also lends his instructional expertise to the implementation of the Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) devices and assists others in supporting it by training others on the use of the Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) programming language along with its extended use in Field Device Integration (FDI) Device Packages.
Previous appointments to Mr. Baker's credit include his time as a Senior Application Support Engineer with the HART Communication Foundation from 1998 until 2014, having previously served as a systems integrator with Remote Operating Systems between 1996 and 1998. He also proudly served as Captain (O-3) in the United States Air Force, where he initiated his work as an Project Manager and a Project Engineer at Human Systems Division (HSD/YA), Air Force Brooks Base in the area of chemical weapons protection and detection from 1987 to 1996. Mr. Baker gained his Air Force commission by participating in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Texas at Austin, through which he served from 1982 until 1984. Prior to active duty, and while in college, Mr. Baker held the rank of Senior Airman (E-4) as an Aircrew Egress Systems specialist in the United States Air Force Reserve where he served a 2-day (weekend) per month duty at the 924th Tactical Fighter Group at Bergstrom Air Force Base from 1982 to 1984.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986, which he counts among his most notable achievements. Mr. Baker is also gratified to have introduced a sustainable, reliable software HART Device, written in Visual C++, and runs on Windows, which he began writing in 1999 and still maintains into the present and used by companies world-wide.
