Since obtaining the role in 2022, he has led a group of nearly 20 mechanical and electrical reliability engineers, reliability technicians, and mill quality assurance personnel. Similarly, he oversees 3,000 remote vibration sensors hardware and software. Prior to joining Georgia-Pacific, Mr. Dameron worked as a rotating equipment reliability engineer for Kraton Corporation and as a senior maintenance engineer for SABIC Innovative Plastics' Chlor-Alkali Brine Recovery Plant.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Dameron gained valuable expertise in the field through WestRock Company, The Linde Group, Arizona Chemical, and St. Mark's Powder. Throughout his career, he has helped redesign equipment, overseen engineering matters for many plants, supervised innovative vibration analysis programs, and completed "train the trainer" instruction. An expert in his field, Mr. Dameron holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Dameron earned the Arizona Star Award from Arizona Chemical. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in creating new designs that saved Arizona Chemical $3 million a year and still allowed the company to upgrade and replace all the piping of a 1930s vintage facility. The cornerstone of his success lay in his hard work and his willingness to succeed, which was instilled in him by his late mother. Looking ahead, Mr. Dameron aims to complete a business administration doctoral degree.
