As her own children were getting older, Maripeg Bruder discovered new spare time to spend. Shortly thereafter, her friend came across a newspaper article regarding the Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center, which was a new nonprofit that was trying to find a location at that point in time. Interested in their mission to advocate for the awareness and prevention of child abuse, Ms. Bruder's friend contacted the director, and subsequently, they conducted their first fundraiser over 12 years ago. As time progressed, Mission Kids became Ms. Bruder's passion, and since 2012, she has excelled as the chairperson of their board of trustees.
