Additionally, he is a valued member of the American Society for Industrial Security, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the International Association for Counterterrorism Professionals and the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Schurgers attained a Master of Business Administration from the University of the Armed Forces in 1986. He completed coursework in international management development in Lausanne, Switzerland and in a general manager program at the Harvard Business School. He supplemented these achievements with coursework in the security executive development program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
