DELMONT, PA, May 30, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nathan F. Gibbs has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Gibbs draws on more than 25 years of experience as a proven expert in the nuclear industry. Specializing in technical writing and editing, he has worked as a Senior Procedure Writer Specialist for Nawah Energy Company in Abu Dhabi, UAE since 2017. In his current remote role, he primarily focuses on writing technical and administrative procedures that guide staff members working in the company's Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), the first nuclear power station in the Arab world.
Among his other duties, Mr. Gibbs helped Nawah Energy Company establish a simple, precise style of English that all the company's nationalities could understand, thereby contributing to plant safety.
BNPP consists of four South Korean-designed APR1400 reactors. Before joining Nawah Energy, Mr. Gibbs helped the Koreans license the APR1400 with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), refining the design documents into a high-quality package for the regulator. With the NRC certification, the design could be marketed worldwide.
At the start of his career, he joined Westinghouse Electric Company LLC as a consultant in 1993, working as an editor and production coordinator on turnkey nuclear plant proposals. He remained with the company for 20 years, working in areas as diverse as digital instrumentation and controls, analytical software and materials science. Such diversity of technology continues to engage and fascinate him.
Mr. Gibbs studied at Duquesne University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a Master of Arts in Corporate Communication. He also studied English and history. "I'm a liberal arts man in the tech world," he said. "I had to expand my vocabulary – and my perspective – to work with engineers on their level."
In addition to his academic credentials, he holds a Procedure Professionals Association (PPA) procedure writer certification. Adjacent to his professional endeavors, he also serves as a civic-minded citizen, participating as a sponsor for the American Cancer Society.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Gibbs was honored with an Exceptional Performance Award from Nawah Energy Company in 2019 and an Outstanding Service Award from Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in 2013. Considering his fulfilling career, he largely attributes his success to his desire for continuous learning and his ability to forge lasting bonds with technical staff. Having excelled as a writer from an early age, he naturally gravitated toward his chosen career path, and merged technology with communication in a fulfilling way. In the coming years, Mr. Gibbs plans to explore new career opportunities. Apart from nuclear power and clean energy, his professional interests include human performance, quality assurance and cybersecurity.
