With more than a decade of excellence in civil engineering to his credit, Dr. Yeboah has earned distinction as a principal engineer with the Southern Company. Having joined the company in 2020 as a senior engineer, he has focused his efforts on sustainable waste management. Additionally, he lends his expertise as a member to the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Accreditation Board for the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at Bucknell University
Prior to his current role, Dr. Yeboah began his career as a staff engineer with Geosyntec Consultants in 2006 and became a project engineer with Clark Construction in 2008. Later that year, he took a role as a graduate research assistant with the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then served as a research and development project manager for Headwaters, Inc. in 2014. Following this time, Dr. Yeboah was a staff engineer with Golder Associates in 2015, earning a promotion to a project engineer in 2018 and to a senior project engineer in 2020.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Yeboah has contributed a wealth of research to the field, including "Geologic disposal of energy-related waste," which was featured in the KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering and "Utilization of Savannah Harbor river sediment as the primary raw material in production of fired brick" for the Journal of Environmental Management. He also wrote "Characterization of biomass and high carbon content coal ash for productive reuse applications" for the journal Fuel in 2014 and "Treatment and Disposal Alternatives for Flue Gas Desulfurization Wastewater" for the World of Coal Ash Conference in 2015.
To prepare for his career in engineering, Dr. Yeboah earned a Bachelor of Arts in geology and Earth science as well as a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Bucknell University in 2006. Following this dual achievement, he attained a Master of Science in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011. He subsequently gained a Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering with a specialty in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering from the same intuition in 2014, writing his thesis on "Characterization and productive reuse of high carbon content coal and biomass combustion residuals from energy production." Well-qualified in his profession, he is a certified professional engineer and project management professional.
Within the coming years, Dr. Yeboah intends to pursue more work in other aspects of energy sustainability, helping in the efforts to transition away from fossil fuels. As part of this, he has been involved in helping clean up the legacy waste from the fossil fuel era to move forward into novel energy sources.
