Having worked for many years in his chosen field, Mr. Williams has distinguished himself as a professional pianist, vocalist, business owner and consultant. Mr. Williams' also had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2020, which was a considerable honor.
Additionally, Mr. Williams currently serves as Safety Director and assistant Student Services Coordinator with the Appling County Board of Education. He has served as the assistant principal at Appling County High School in Baxley, Georgia, since 2010. Formerly known as Appling County Comprehensive High School and a part of the Appling County School District, the school currently serves approximately 1,100 students in grades nine through 12 and employs 101 teachers. In his administrative role at the high school, Mr. Williams excels in maintaining a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors. He thrives on keeping abreast of the latest information on safety and technology, to managing and mentoring personnel, as well as providing his expertise with regard to curriculum and instruction. Additionally, he facilitates and leads courses in instruction with professional development for employees.
Attributing his good fortune to being a great communicator, Mr. Williams enjoys collaborating with others, whether it be in the music and entertainment industry or in the field of education. Being able to combine his two passions has also contributed to his professional success.
To further support his career in both music and education, Mr. Williams is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals, is an associate supervisor of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, and an associate of the Friends of Johnny Mercer Inc. Civically, Mr. Williams is a parishioner of the First Baptist Church in Baxley, Georgia. In 2016, he also served as the church's minister of music.
Mr. Williams received an associate degree at Brewton Parker College in 1982, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music education at Tift College of Education, Mercer University, in 1984. Furthermore, he achieved a Master of Arts in educational administration and leadership in 2006 and a Specialist in Education in educational administration and leadership in 2007 at Cambridge College. Well qualified, Mr. Williams is a certified professional teacher in the state of Georgia, as well as a certified apprentice embalmer, and holds a real estate sales representative certification in the state of Georgia.
