Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in women's health, Dr. Arena presently serves as owner of Waves of Awakening Center for Personalized Medicine through which she also serves as an integrative gynecologist. Previously, she worked in a similar position at The Rothfeld Center for Integrative Medicine and prior to that, she was the President and a partner at South Shore Women's Health PC. An expert in her field, Dr. Arena holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She expanded upon her professional knowledge by completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baystate Medical Center and board certification with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed a fellowship in functional medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and subsequently became board certified in functional medicine as well. Dr. Arena also participated in the South Shore Hospital Physician Leadership Academy.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Arena aligns herself with the Institute for Functional Medicine, the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, she has contributed to a number of articles, and blogs regarding women's health and intimacy. Since the late 1990's she has consistently been awarded for her outstanding body of work, earning the Benjamin Tenney Prize in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Boston University School of Medicine, recognition for Outstanding Performance in Maternal-Fetal Medicine through Baystate Medical Center, and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Freedom Practice Coaching in 2022.
