Mr. Mammon fervently believes that California's San Francisco Bay/Delta needs to be protected.
OAKLEY, CA, July 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roger Mammon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional management experience, Mr. Mammon currently excels as a board member for Restore the Delta, which is dedicated to restoring and preserving the health of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. A designated National Heritage area, the Delta is the largest tidal estuary on the West Coast of North and South America and one of the most studied waterways in the world due to a plethora of invasive species and pollution from agricultural run off. Excessive exports of water from the Delta to the San Joaquin Valley orchards leave an unhealthy environment for people, fish, wildlife and Delta agriculture. In his capacity, he attends meetings and takes minutes for the secretary and utilizes his expertise as a consultant for the executive director regarding the steps necessary to address the Delta's needs. Likewise, Mr. Mammon liaises with the state government and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and educates the public about the issues facing the Delta.
Mr. Mammon has been involved with various organizations that take an interest in his community and wildlife conservation. He served as co-chair of the Committee to Save our Shoreline and was appointed the unofficial liaison on Delta matters by the Oakley City Council.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he served as President and Board Member of the West Delta chapter of the California Striped Bass Association, which will hold its 35th Annual Free Fishing Derby to "Get Kids Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs or Gangs" in October, He was also part of the Floating Net Pen Operation that was designed to rebuild the striped bass population in the Delta. The Lower Sherman Island Duck Hunters Association also benefitted from Mr. Mammon's role as President and Board Member.
He has taken part in meetings and protests on various environmental issues and has been asked to speak by organizations including the Mt. Diablo Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Grizzly Peak Fly Fishers, Delta Stewardship Council, Department of Water Resources, and Science Class at Freedom High School, to name a few.
Mr. Mammon fervently believes that California's San Francisco Bay/Delta needs to be protected. As he explained, "All salmon fishing has been closed for at least the 2023 season and potentially could be closed for a longer period of time. The Delta's worst enemy is the people that live in or around the Delta as they know little or nothing about the treasure that surrounds them." Mr. Mammon says he will continue to participate in activities that build awareness of this once magnificent Delta and bring it back to a healthy environment for everyone to enjoy.
Mr. Mammon completed coursework in administration of justice and law enforcement through Contra Costa College and during the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise in administration as a credit manager with the General Motors Acceptance Corporation.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Mammon was nominated for the California Outdoors Hall of Fame and awarded the Fisherman Advocate of the Year from Restore the Delta. The cornerstone of his success lay in the recommendations and ideas he has received from Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, Restore the Delta's executive director.
