She joined the firm in 2022 after accumulating valuable experience in the field through a series of key positions with 3M, including Medical Science Liaison manager for USAC, 3M-KCI and Crawford Healthcare in global and domestic roles on the Medical and Scientific affairs teams from 2017 to 2022. Notably, between 2012 and 2015, Dr. Dick also earned valuable international experience as a senior clinical field research specialist with Derma Sciences, Domestic, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
In her current role in medical and scientific affairs and as a rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Dick manages physician relationships by meeting with providers to discuss scientific evidence and train them to participate in discussions on the company's products. Dr. Dick also collaborates with internal partners, consulting with the firm's marketing professionals and medical writers, as well as research and development experts to identify dynamic speakers and facilitate product innovations and appropriate outreach.
Impressive academic credentials are a foundational component to Dr. Dick's professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and a minor in biology from the University of Central Arkansas in 1997 before completing a Master of Science in physical therapy there in 1999. Subsequently, she attended The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota, where she finished a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. Dr. Dick is also a designated certified wound specialist, earning this specialization through the American Board of Wound Management. She is licensed as a physical therapist in Kentucky and was previously licensed in Texas and Illinois.
A commitment to higher education and outreach also shapes Dr. Dick's professional profile. Between 2005 and 2007, she was an adjunct instructor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and from 2015 to 2017, she was full time faculty and Associate Director of Clinical Education at Western Kentucky University's Docter of Physical Therapy program. Currently, Dr. Dick currently serves at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where she joined the adjunct faculty in 2017.
Dr. Dick is proud to have served two terms on the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy. She has also contributed to the ongoing scholarly conversations in her field with the authorship of articles published in Value in Health Journal and Meta-analysis and Literature Review in 2016. She also recently co-authored a chapter on negative pressure therapy for integumentary management for a Wound Diagnosis and Treatment textbook. Moreover, Dr. Dick was honored by the American Physical Therapy Association with an award for outstanding contributions to the organization, and she was humbled to be a nominee for the Medical Science Liaison of the Year award from the Medical Science Liaison Society in 2019.
Through an affiliation with the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management within the American Physical Therapy Association Dr. Dick cooperated on writing board specialization exams; her contributions helped make it possible for numerous groups to obtain the unique credential under the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Ultimately, she is gratified to have positively influenced the overall field of healthcare and specifically the medical science liaison role, and looking toward the future, Dr. Dick aims to resume a key leadership role in the medical device industry or associated field before advancing toward retirement.
