STEVENSVILLE, MT, September 15, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lyn W. Graves has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Graves has garnered recognition as an experienced and talented artist whose artistic journey began by showcasing her work throughout the country at area art shows. All these years later, she continues exploring her creative side via painting and volunteer work. As a Western artist painter, Ms. Graves paints nearly every day, specializing in florals and cowboys, and enters her works of art into auctions like the Shadows of the Past Art Auction. Ms. Graves also dedicates several days per week to designing exhibits, archiving artifacts, and conducting comprehensive inventory management as a volunteer at the Historic Saint Mary's Mission and Museum.

Having previously found success in education for more than 20 years, Ms. Graves taught at several schools throughout Montana, including courses in art and history at Harlowton High School in Harlowton, Montana. Fortunate for her career in education, the opportunity earned her a significant enough salary to continue pursuing her passion for the arts.

Besides her contributions at the museum, Ms. Graves has been actively accumulating historical information about the century-old Graves Hotel in Harlowton, Montana, which suffered a tragic fire in 2023. She subsequently published a book, "The Graves Hotel Through the Eyes of the Newspaper and Recipe Book," disseminating her findings. Ms. Graves also resumed her passion for creating dolls following her retirement from the classroom, which has spanned more than two decades. Among her future aspirations, she aims to continue her artistic pursuits and travel more to experience other cultures.

Educated in her field, Ms. Graves received an undergraduate degree in education and history from the College of Great Falls (now University of Providence) and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Montana. She also received certification to teach in Montana.

Honoring her work, Ms. Graves won numerous awards while coming of age at the Montana State Fair in Great Falls. In her adult life, she was recognized with a People's Choice Award for her White Sulphur Springs Rotary Art Show in 1989, was a two-time recipient of a Blackfoot Valley Art Auction Peer Award in 1991 and 1992, and received a Best of Shadows of the Past in 2004. Ms. Graves attributes these, and many other achievements, to her intrinsic motivation.
