Mr. Hardin is a healthcare professional and administrator who has dedicated his career to fostering excellence in sterile processing. He began his career in 2004 while serving in the United States Army as a non-commissioned officer and flight medic, surgical assistant, and scrub technician. Mr. Hardin completed extensive additional training through the United States Army Medical Department Center and School, including a certification in surgical technology in 2005 and paramedic and emergency combat medicine coursework in 2007. Throughout his career, Mr. Hardin has pursued numerous industry credentials, including resident-level mentor and green belt certifications from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association's Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) and Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) endorsements.
Mr. Hardin continued to serve proudly in the United States Army until 2011, when he joined the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as acting assistant chief of sterile processing services, rising to chief the following year. In 2014, Mr. Hardin brought his extensive experience to the private sector as a clinical manager of sterile processing for SpecialtyCare, where he remained until 2017. Between 2014 and 2015, he served concurrently as the director of the sterile processing department at the Bay Area Regional Medical Center, where he oversaw the entire departmental development process from blueprinting and strategic planning to staffing, equipment selection, and creating policies for long-term growth. Mr. Hardin began his affiliation with STERIS in 2018, starting as a sterile processing operations manager II before being named to his current role, senior manager of clinical services, in 2019.
As a recognized leader in his specialty, Mr. Hardin has held numerous consulting and leadership positions, including service on the 3M Senior Leadership Advisory Council for Sterilization. He is a member of the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association and was a contributor to a major research study on equipment handling and patient outcomes, an accomplishment he considers a career highlight. Mr. Hardin credits his success to treating his work as a vocation and an opportunity to help improve communities, and he looks forward to pursuing new mentorship positions and areas of responsibility in the coming years.
