ARLINGTON, TX, December 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alex Serman, CIPM, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Serman has devoted his career to wealth management, joining First Rate, Inc. in 2016 as an Investment Performance Auditor. Earning continuous promotions, he was named Managing Director in 2022 of the Wealth team and the Institutional team in 2023, a role that involves managing the operations team that supports the firm's clients, primarily wealth management firms, and providing software for performance measurement and client reporting. Additionally, Mr. Serman is tasked with setting a clear strategic vision for his teams, ensuring company growth, identifying new markets, and collaborating with the marketing and development personnel regarding what new products and services they might want to offer to successfully expand the firm's footprint.
During his tenure with First Rate Inc., Mr. Serman was an Investment Performance Auditor from 2016 to 2018, Investment Performance Analyst I between 2018 and 2019, Investment Performance Analyst II from 2019 to 2021, and Client Service Manager between 2021 and 2022. Grateful for his ongoing success at such a young age, he is most proud to have achieved the role of Managing Director at just 25, through which he interacts with the firm's largest clients and demonstrates his superior communication and leadership skills.
Looking forward to a continuous upward trajectory, Mr. Serman is eager to expand his team and client base while providing ongoing support to his existing clients. Ultimately, he aims to enhance his team's overall performance and ensure his clients remain satisfied.
Engaged in numerous local initiatives and groups that support the community, Mr. Serman volunteers with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County where he serves on the Club Council and on the BGCGTC Club Classic golf tournament committee. He formerly served as a weekly service worker for Beat Auburn Beat Hunger from 2014 to 2016. Subsequently, he served as an assistant team leader for the Center for Sustainable Service and Volunteerism between 2015 and 2016. Among other involvements, Mr. Serman has volunteered to help build three homes in Tijuana, Mexico through Homes of Hope.
Highly educated, Mr. Serman received an undergraduate degree in economics and finance from the University of Alabama in 2018 and a Master of Arts in applied economics from the Manderson Graduate School of Business in 2018. During his studies, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Lambda business organization. He was also admitted into Sigma Phi Epsilon, where he notably served as a Sigma Class Officer, Community Service Chair, Vice President of Operations, and Vice President of Finance. Additionally, Mr. Serman received designations with a data mining certification through the University of Alabama and SAS and a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement through the CFA Institute. He has also earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing and Investment Manager Selection.
Continually seeking to remain aware of ongoing changes in his industry, Mr. Serman is active as a member of the CFA Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Mr. Serman's hard work and dedication earned him recognition in college with a Greek Excellence Award for Community Service and Philanthropy from the Office of Greek Resources at the University of Alabama in 2016 for his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon during his tenure as Community Service Chair. During his professional career, he was also featured by the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce in its Inaugural 2022 40 Under 40 list.
