Noted for his expertise as a trial and appellate lawyer, Mr. Smith has garnered many wins in state and federal courts over the past two decades, fighting corporate, insurance, and government entities. His firm provides legal counsel in employment, personal injury, and insurance litigation and offers severance reviews for clients.
A paralegal since 1993, Ms. Davis worked for several other firms, including the Law Offices of Art Brender, Foster & Sear, and Erwin & Cain, P.C. During her distinguished tenure, she worked on various types of cases, from small claims to U.S. Supreme Court briefs. Looking toward future endeavors, Ms. Davis aims to continue learning and exposing herself to new and challenging cases. She also aspires to mentor and encourage paralegals new to the field and eventually become a director for the State Bar of Texas's Paralegal Division.
Passionate about the law, Ms. Davis began volunteering for the Fort Worth Teen Court while in high school, which was recognized as the first teen court in the area. She spent two years as a prosecutor and defense attorney for the group and garnered an excellent reputation for her work. Ms. Davis also served on her high school's inaugural mock trial team. Moreover, as part of the Boy Scouts Law Explorers, she became involved in local and national mock trial competitions.
Ms. Davis continues to participate in various local initiatives. She has served pro bono for the Tarrant County Volunteer Attorney Services since 2017.
A Stephen F. Austin State University graduate, Ms. Davis received a bachelor's degree with a double major in political science and criminal justice in 1993. She also received certification as a paralegal in civil trial law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Davis is among only 110 board-certified paralegals in civil trial law in the state.
Remaining abreast in her industry, Ms. Davis is a member of the Fort Worth Paralegal Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association. She is also a member and mentor for the State Bar of Texas's paralegal division.
In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Davis has been recognized as an Outstanding Committee Chair and Vendor Liaison by the paralegal division of the State Bar of Texas in 2017, Paralegal Volunteer of the Year by Tarrant County Bar Foundation in 2020, Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year by the Fort Worth Paralegal Association in 2020, and Paralegal of the Year by the Fort Worth Paralegal Association in 2021. She also received an Exceptional Pro Bono Service Award from the State Bar of Texas's Paralegal Division in 2020.
