Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in Intensive Care Nursing and treating patients with congestive heart failure, Ms. Kelly has earned distinction as a Nurse Manager for Supply Chain with the Methodist Health System. Since 2005, she has focused her efforts on overseeing the Value Analysis process for all six hospitals of Methodist Health System. Guides a Value Analysis Team (VAT) to review requests for new products or changes in product lines through in depth review of evidence based practice that results in optimal clinical outcomes, clinical efficacy, safety, efficiency and financial value. On a daily basis collaborates with the supply chain operations team on inventory levels of stocked and non-stocked supplies. This results in researching for clinically equivalent product alternatives for supplies that are low or unavailable. She is committed to ensuring that both patients and clinical staff have all the resources necessary to achieve success in their efforts to make a positive impact on helping restore individuals to their optimal health. Likewise dedicated to civil advocacy, she has volunteered with the Santa's Village Berry Hospital, grade school age Sunday School Class and Feeding the Starving Children in Richardson, TX.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Kelly began her career as a clinical nurse for the coronary care unit and post-operative telemetry with the Baylor University Medical Center in 1985 and was promoted to a clinical nurse for the post-anesthesia care unit in 1987. Following this time, she served as a post-anesthesia care unit coordinator for Mesquite Physicians Hospital in 1988 and returned to Baylor University Medical Center in 1989 as a clinical nurse for cardiac rehabilitation. She continued her career as a clinical nurse coordinator for Cardiology and Internal Medicine Associates in 1992 and was a system consultant for Alaris Medical Systems in 1994. She subsequently worked as a product sales specialist for Medwave Inc. in 2004 for a year.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Kelly was awarded the 100% Club Award by Alaris Medical Systems in 1998 and 2001 and received a Determination, Optimization and Toughness Award in 2002. In 2013, she received The Great Award for Education and Staff Awareness of the Safety Products to Prevent Needlesticks from the Methodist Health System.
To prepare for her career in healthcare, Ms. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University in 1991. Well-qualified in her field, she has been a registered nurse with the Bryan Memorial School of Nursing since 1984 and holds a medical and clinical assistant certification from Southeast Community College. Additionally, she is a valued member of the American Hospital Association and the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals.
Within the coming years, Ms. Kelly intends to retire without completely stepping away from the healthcare industry. Her goal is to transition into a consulting role where she can lend her vast knowledge and expertise to hospital systems, assisting these institutions in improving their efficiency, reducing costs, maintaining patient safety and sharing Evidence Based Practices.
