Before accepting his current position, Mr. Brown founded Roundhouse Behavior Consulting in 2017 and continues to serve as its director, a position that complements his efforts at MindSet through a focus on behavioral supports and interventions. From 2018 to 2021, he contributed significantly as the coordinator of behavior supports for the Clarke County School District, thriving in a role built upon his earlier tenure with the district as a behavior specialist and MindSet training coordinator from 2015 to 2018. Before stepping into these roles, Mr. Brown was an education facilitator for special education services within the Clarke County School District from 2005 to 2015, where he first began to establish a presence in educational support services.
Mr. Brown's journey into this distinct field began earlier with roles outside the educational sector but within supportive services for children and adults. He served as a researcher at the College of Education at the University of Georgia from 2004 to 2005, which provided him with foundational insights into educational methodologies and practices. Before this academic endeavor, he was a supervisor at the GADHR Mental Health Division from 1997 to 2004; additionally, Mr. Brown's role as a project manager at AJC International from 1999 to 2003 and as a lead child development worker at Rainbow House Inc. from 1994 to 1996 laid the groundwork for his later achievements in behavioral consulting and support.
Mr. Brown's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature from the University of Georgia, and he proudly earned a Master of Education in special education and teaching from the same institution. He continued post graduate studies at the Floridia Institute of Technology where he earned certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. Mr. Brown counts effective communication skills, strong intentional connections within the field and unwavering determination as key components in his advancement thus far, and Mr. Brown aims to persist in supporting individuals and children, refusing to abandon them in their pursuit of success.
Throughout his career, Mr. Brown has been recognized for his contributions with the Influential Leadership in Education Award, from the HEaL Conferences in 2024 and accolades that include Teacher of the Year and numerous other awards for connecting with students. Outside of his professional life, he remains committed to family bonding and spending quality time with his wife and four children; additionally, he pursues a varied slate of personal interests, including outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and gardening, which provide perspective and balance, as does attending his children's diverse activities.
