A seasoned patient safety executive with years of industry experience, Ms. Justice excels as a consumer board member of the Florida Board of Medicine and vice president of patient safety, risk and insurance for Tampa General Hospital, one of the nation's leading not-for-profit academic health systems, in partnership with the University of South Florida. During the early stages of her career, she gained valuable expertise with Tampa General Hospital as director of patient safety, the senior director of patient safety, and the manager of quality and regulatory standards. As a member of Tampa General Hospital since 2010 and in numerous roles, Ms. Justice also has been responsible for organizational compliance in the emerging fields of medical technology and health information technology regulations.
Ms. Justice earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from the University of South Florida. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing a Master of Jurisprudence at Seton Hall University's School of Law.
Ms. Justice aligns herself with the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety, the American Hospital Association, the Florida Board of Medicine, and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. In conjunction with her work, she has also contributed to her community through her local church, the Girl Scouts of America, and Our Police Foundation's Rise Tampa, where she served as board chair between 2019 and 2022.
Ms. Justice has achieved much throughout her career, completing the Patient Safety Executive Program at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in increasing safety and risk reporting with her team's help and working collaboratively with the care delivery team. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her desire to continue learning, her openness to feedback and constructive criticism, and her drive to make a difference. Within the next five years, Ms. Justice will continue advocating for patient safety within the healthcare system.
