Her career also includes positions as finance officer at FHI360, a regional accountant at the International Republican Institute, a project accountant at the Eurasia International Republican Institute, and the chief financial officer at the Foundation for Democratic Development.

She volunteers for various activities within local expatriate communities and supports the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Her past volunteer work includes contributions to clothing and toy donations for an orphanage in Tunisia.
In her personal life, Ms. Golovanenko is a devoted mother.
