As a high school student, Mr. Gorog developed an interest in residential and commercial civil engineering. Upon graduating from Stow-Munroe Falls High School. After freshman year at the University of Akron, Mr. Gorog was hired as a summer co-op with the position as assistant field inspector for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Next, Mr. Gorog began his co-op rotation as an AutoCAD technician, surveying assistant at McCoy and Associates, Inc. Upond graduation in Spring 2002 with his B.S. in Civil Engineering he accepated a full time position asdesign engineer for McCoy and Associates, Inc. Likewise, Mr. Gorog performed engineering calculations for sanitary and storm sewers, estimated costs, and liaised with city and county engineers, contractors, and architects as a design engineer for Greenland Consulting, Inc. and designed and managed various construction projects as a project engineer with Chagrin Valley Engineering.
With a wealth of professional expertise, Mr. Gorog has significantly impacted the City of Reminderville, the Village of Boston Heights, and the Village of Newton Falls as a project engineer and municipal engineering representative for OHM Advisors. His tireless efforts in securing grants and loans for infrastructure projects, coordinating plan reviews, addressing resident concerns, and creating multi-year capital improvement plans have transformed these communities. In addition, his valuable advice to the mayor and council has shaped the infrastructure and development within the community, inspiring others with his dedication and contributions.
An expert in his field, Mr. Gorog holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Akron and a certification in The National Association of Sewer Service Companies, Pipeline, Lateral, and Manhole Assessments through the University of Texas at Austin. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Gorog aligns himself with the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study as a voting member on the Technical Advisory Committee representing Summit County Villages, the American Society of Civil Engineering, and the American Society of Highway Engineering.
In conjunction with his work, Mr. Gorog has contributed to his community through the First Congregational Church of Hudson and as a volunteer with local food pantries and Habitat for Humanity. For his outstanding achievements, he was named a runner-up for the Employee of the Year Award in 2022, the highlight of his career. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to believing that no work is beneath him; he is a team player.
