Since joining the firm in 2020, he has specialized in representing car accident and slip and fall accident victims.
MIAMI BEACH, FL, June 18, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ira Combs has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on years of expertise in personal injury, premises liability, and first-party property insurance law, Mr. Combs excels as an attorney with Cornish Hernandez Gonzalez, PLLC. Since joining the firm in 2020, he has specialized in representing car accident and slip and fall accident victims in Miami Dade, Broward County, West Palm Beach, Orange County, and Hillsborough County, Florida. Additionally, Mr. Combs conducts all phases of discovery, from interrogatories and requests for production of documents to taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, and attending client medical evaluations.
Before joining Cornish Hernandez Gonzelez, Mr. Combs gained valuable expertise as an assistant public defender in the 11th Judicial Circuit's Office of the Public Defender. Between 2016 and 2020, he honed his expertise in trial law, witness interrogation, and depositions. During the early stages of his career, he completed a political science internship with Senator Philip E. Hoffman of Michigan. He dedicated himself to his country through the United States Navy. As a cryptologic maintenance technician in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Mr. Combs supervised maintenance activities, repaired and replaced cryptologic networks, and provided intelligence and cyber operations support to the Naval Information Operational Command before being honorably discharged in 2013.
An expert in his field, Mr. Combs earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Michigan in 2008. Subsequently, he received a JD from the Ave Maria School of Law and was admitted to practice through The Florida Bar. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the state bar association, the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association, the Miami Dad County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Black Law Students Association. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Combs contributes to his community through the Boy Scouts and Habitat for Humanity.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Combs takes the most pride in his career as a public defender and a personal injury attorney. Although many cases in Florida are settled before trial, he enjoys trying cases. One case that stands out among the rest involved helping a combat veteran who had been involved in two car accidents. The VA did pay for his medical treatments, but the defendant's insurance company refused compensation due to the fact that he had no medical bills. Mr. Combs fought for his client's rights and obtained compensation for him.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Combs credits his success to his mentors' support in navigating the ever-evolving legal landscape. Within the next five to ten years, he intends to run for judge while remaining open to other legal opportunities.
