The foundation of Dr. Morcos's remarkable career was laid early on after completing a Doctor of Medicine from Cairo University in Egypt in 1969, a residency in ophthalmology at the Eye Center in Cairo, followed by completion of a residency at Nassau University Medical Center. Furthermore, she received board certification in ophthalmology and has performed thousands of surgeries and treated a vast number of patients critically in need of sight-preserving care across Nassau County.
Besides her education, Dr. Morcos's professional affiliations reflect her ongoing commitments as a dedicated professional in the medical community. She is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology. These memberships signify Dr. Morcos's commitment to maintaining high standards in her practice and active participation in advancing research and education within her field.
In light of her accomplishments, Dr. Morcos was honored for her contributions to ophthalmology education through the receipt of a Certificate of Appreciation for Ten Years of Devoted Service from Nassau University Medical Center in 1999 and with recognition as Woman of the Year by the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association in 2017.
